2025 ACT Insurance Awards

Who do you know or work with that deserves to be recognised for their outstanding work and contribution to the insurance industry?

 

The ACT Insurance Ball Committee give awards to worthy recipients from within the insurance industry voted by YOU. The annual awards are celebrated and recognises individual talent where recipients receive their awards before all their colleagues in the insurance industry.

In order to nominate yourself or a colleague, please complete the nomination form.

Anyone can be nominated, they do not have to be a young insurance professional, or a member.​

Winners will be announced at the ACT Insurance Gala Ball on the 2 May 2025 at The Rex Hotel Canberra.

nominate best support person of the year

The recipient of this award may work in any type of assistance role within the ACT insurance industry. S/he will have provided outstanding support within his or her company by understanding the needs of the client, demonstrating good time management, and a willingness to be a life long learner. S/he may be a novice in the industry, but has potential to provide meaningfully to the profession, the industry, and the wider community through his/her professional life.

nominate act insurance leader of the year


The ACT Insurance Awards inaugural nominated award ‘Insurance Leader of the Year’ is awarded to a person/s or company who has/have demonstrated support and service to the insurance industry through their professional work, and in particular to the support of the insurance industry as a profession. In addition to this, an individual or company who goes above and beyond to nurture the young talent coming through the insurance industry, promoting insurance as a career and supporting the Young Insurance Professionals within our local industry.

 

This is an award that recognises individuals or companies that go the extra mile to not just their own company, but the industry at large.

The recipient of this award is an exemplary problem solver who exercises outstanding negotiating skills whilst maintaining focus on the end goal and client satisfaction. S/he is known for their genuine attempts to resolve issues and is often consulted by colleagues for advice on negotiation strategy. S/he demonstrates a commitment to professionalism, including ensuring s/he is up to date on all relevant industry trends/ customer needs/ legislation etc. S/he may be a broker, an underwriter, a claims manager, a lawyer, or any role involving negotiation.

nominate excellence in claims

The recipient of this award goes above and beyond to manage personal injury claims. S/he consistently shows speed of service, proactively, accuracy and fairness in their claims approach. S/he undertakes to empower colleagues and clients about the technical and complex matters throughout the management of the claim whilst striving to deliver efficient and cost-effective results and updating all stakeholders throughout the claim process.  S/he is a worthy ambassador for the insurance industry to the community and demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond to assist clients and further the insurance profession. S/he can be working in any claims role within the insurance industry.

nominate Excellence in Risk Management

The recipient of this award understands that life is not without risks, but that a good risk is a mitigated risk. S/he undertakes to guide and advise clients about the myriad of risks affecting their business and how those risks can be avoided or minimised, whether it be through appropriate insurance products, or through implementing risk engineering principles or pricing an account for it's underlying risk profile whilst enhancing their risk management.

 S/he is a worthy ambassador for the insurance industry to the community and demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond to assist clients and further the insurance profession. S/he may be working as an Underwriter, a Safety Manager, a Broker or in any role within the insurance industry that involves Risk Mitigation.

Terms and Conditions for Nominating a Person for the Insurance Industry Award

  1. Only individuals currently holding a position within the insurance industry can submit nominations.

  2. Self-nominations are allowed.

  3. There is no limit to the number of nominations one can submit.

  4. Nominees must currently hold a position within the insurance industry.

  5. Nominations must be submitted through the official nomination form.

  6. Incomplete or inaccurate nomination forms may result in disqualification.

  7. Information provided will be kept confidential and used solely for evaluating candidates.

  8. Organisers reserve the right to verify the eligibility and information of nominators and nominees.

  9. An independent panel of judges will select the award recipients, and their decision is final.

  10. Finalists or winners will be notified directly by the organisers.

  11. By submitting a nomination, nominators agree to these terms and conditions.
